Healing Service

This coming Sunday, Cornerstone will conduct a healing service. We have rearranged the chairs in a circle to face the center. Around of the outside of the circle, there are various stations. One has a cross and some notecards and pencils for people to offer written confessions to the Lord. An anointing station is at the foot of the biggest cross and people seeking healing will be invited to kneel and be anointed. The whole service is structured around James 5:13-16. There are several prayer stations around the worship center too. One station is a place to receive and celebrate communion. Each participant will receive a carnation and will be invited to pray for someone who needs healing as they place the flower in a large arrangement at another station. All the while, our worship leaders will be quietly singing and praying while various Scriptures are shared. I am very excited for what the Lord will be doing in people's lives as we look to Him. Please pray for us.

That sounds and looks really awesome! I love that this is happening in a United Methodist church during a Sunday morning service time. Keep up the creativity based on God's Word!

Pretty awesome. Perhaps the people could place prayer requests or prayer victories on the columns. Thanks for sharing the faith!

What a great idea...there is so much hurt in our world...what a great way to bring healing and hope. I love it!

It sounds great brother.

You are always ahead of the rest.

I might even call you a trend setter.

No, I am just kidding, really though it sounds awesome. And with your permission I might use a format similar to yours when I do a healing a service next.

God bless

Corben...no permission necessary. Go for it dude. Let's let Jesus be the great I AM. Let's face it, people aren't hungering for a religion. Most are desperate for a life changing relationship with the living and almighty God. Let's give Him to them!

By the way, Keith, do you approve of Healing Services, or is that too violent? If you're OK w/ it, Cornerstone challenges Jefferson to a "healympics."

Great idea, Brett. I like the different stations, and also the experiential aspects of this service. Keep the ideas coming! Let us know how it goes.

Yes, sounds great... what a novel idea having Jesus as the focus.

All seriousness aside, why does it seem like pastors forget this should be first and especially personally not just corporately?

Those kinds of experiences can be so powerful. We did something similar here at Bakerstown with the different stations and all that...it seemed to really meet people right where they were. I'll be praying that it's a blessing to you and the congregation!

This was just AMAZING!!! I could not believe how well people responded...it was very cool. I also got to dedicate a little boy and then baptized his father by immersion in a pool after the service. What a great day!
