The Biggest Loser!
Today was the big weigh-in at my gym. A number of us are embarking on our own "Biggest Loser" contest over the next three months. The cost to enter is $50. The 2nd place contestant gets his money back...1st place takes the rest.
I have never been overweight so I had a problem on my hands. In order to have a chance to win, I spent the last 6 weeks eating anything and everything I wanted. The strategy was to be unhealthy and gain weight so that I could lose weight and be healthy. I gained 9 pounds and now am heavier than I've ever been in my life! Awesome!!! I have a real chance to be the biggest loser because I was striving to be the biggest gainer!!!
And don't we sometimes act like that in life?
Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

is that like the people who gain 20 pounds in order to qualify for stomach stapling surgery?
Something like that. Smart, eh?
Oh, this is just so open for smart #@# comments!
Good Luck
There are so many things I want to say right now.
We could do a whole biggest loser thing in our covenant group and it wouldn't even have to deal with weight!
Bring it on!
A couple terms come to mind, Brett, in addition to biggest loser - biggest idiot, biggest nonsensical idea I've ever heard of, biggest contradiction to a healthy lifestyle (from someone who actually preached at a clergy spouse retreat a couple of years ago ON FITNESS AND HEALTH!) Thanks for giving me something to laugh about today, Problino! Gaining weight so you can lose it again in a contest... priceless.
You're weird.
I have to say.... that's very competitive!
I am thinking the church needs to up your salary if you need to gain weight to get extra money! :-)
That would be funny if you became the Biggest Loser and lost 9 lbs...Wow, who would be the biggest loser around the round table? No more wake-up specials.
Back to oatmeal for you, Brett!
Yeah buddy. I'll have this competition in the bag.
Brett, if I could be there to slap you upside the head right now I would. How dare you purposely gain weight so you can lose it? I am struggling so much with my weight right now and could easily gain 9 pounds in half the time you did and take twice as long to get it off. I weigh more than I have since I started going to weight watchers five years ago. I have a long road back to where I was last spring. That post was written like a true skinny person and if I didn't love you so much I'd be really offended.
Sorry,

Jack and I found this to be funny. We have a one word answer for you...running :-P
